2019 Scarecrow Festival Living Statue
10/04/2019 05:00 PM - 05:00 PM MT

Be A Living Statue During Stevensville Scarecrow Festival

Show off your unique talent or educate folks on a subject close to your heart while raising money for your favorite non-profit.

First you need to create a character including a costume and props.  Have a bit or schtick about 15 seconds to ½ minute long which can be acting, singing, dancing, comedy act, puppet, or play an instrument.

You will also need a sign saying who you are (your character) and what you are raising money for. Living Statues must raise money for a nonprofit! You bring your own donation jar or other receptacle (hat, can, etc.), and all proceeds will go towards a nonprofit of your choice.

The way it works

You stand frozen until someone puts money in your container, then you come to life and do your thing for 15 minutes or ½ minute then freeze again.  If they like your act they might keep putting money in your container to bring you to life.  The more interesting or inventive the better chance you have of making money.

Remember no gore (it’s scarecrow not Halloween) and keep it family friendly and have fun.  This event is only Friday evening from 5:30 to 8:30.

Prizes are 1st Place $50 and 2nd Place $30

Living statues will be assigned a performance space on Main Street in Downtown Stevensville.

Your space includes a platform (if desired) and a placard.

As a Living Statue, you can appear in any type of costume. You hold a pose typically until someone gives you a tip, then you reward them by changing positions with a flourish, performing, acknowledging them in some way--whatever you choose to do.

Signup Deadline:

Entry is due by 5:00 pm on Monday, September 30.
